My name is Ben Waanders

I was born in The Netherlands in 1959.

In 1981 I emigrated to Australia.

I live in country Victoria in the beautiful Gippsland Region.

From a very early age, as long as I can remember really, I enjoyed drawing.

Since the age of 16 I have also been passionate about motorcycles.

It was not until more recently that I combined these interests and with some encouragement I started drawing these images.

Once the rider has been approached the work can start.

It takes several weeks to produce these very accurate and detailed pencil drawings.

Then it is off for a trip to the printers where the magic happens and a limited run is produced on beautiful textured acid free paper.

All this started before internet and web-sites and advertising happened via motorcycle magazines.

 

I will also draw one-off works on a commissioned basis.

I will need a good detailed image of at least A4 size.

Consultation follows with my client and details regarding the work are discussed.

Once we agree on the project and a deposit has been paid I can begin the drawing.

Clients often enjoy a progress viewing and a visit to see the work is encouraged.

 

The cost of these one-off originals varies but one must allow around $800.00 depending on the detail.

These works are produced on “hot-pressed” art paper which is quite thick and therefore very difficult to ship as it is almost impossible to roll.

 

The printed limited edition work rolls fine and is sent in a postal tube, although postal insurance is still recommended.
